As sparingly as possible for people and the environment
Hanno Stoffe is certified in all areas and for all fabric qualities by the Hohenstein Institute according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX ®. An important step, because the conscious use of our resources, the protection of our climate and nature are among our top corporate goals.
The colours and chemicals we use are without exception non-toxic. Consequently, the wastewater and exhaust air generated are also free from environmentally harmful substances – a fact which is regularly confirmed by statutory inspections and emission control measurements.
Water consumption is a good example for one of many measures we take in this respect. On the one hand, water is a valuable natural resource, and on the other, it is a considerable cost factor. We have been able to significantly reduce these costs by installing a water recycling system specifically designed for this purpose. In addition, the recent change from rotary screen printing to digital printing has resulted in considerably lower water and energy consumption.
To name just a few examples, we purchase most of our fabrics from German suppliers with high quality standards and, when selecting raw materials, we prefer European printing inks approved by the GOTS standard. Thus, we are able to meet the requirements of the OEKO-TEX standard 100, set for ready-to-wear garments with direct skin contact, which is especially important for people suffering from allergies.
These examples illustrate our endeavours to meet our environmental responsibilities by carefully selecting our suppliers, using state-of-the-art printing technology and by being as inventive and innovative as possible.
